Inauthentic Profiles

← Back to Community Guidelines

Fateda celebrates authenticity, and we expect all our members to represent themselves accurately on their profile. We don't allow impersonation or misrepresentation on our platform.

What We Don't Allow

Catfishing

Catfishing is creating an online persona that isn't you. This includes:

  • Using photos that aren't of you
  • Creating a fake identity or persona
  • Pretending to be someone else
  • Using someone else's photos or information

Misrepresentation

This includes falsely stating facts about yourself, such as:

  • Your name (using a fake name to deceive others)
  • Your gender or gender identity
  • Your age
  • Your permanent location or where you live
  • Your relationship status
  • Other significant details about your identity

Impersonation

  • Pretending to be a celebrity or public figure
  • Creating a profile as someone you know
  • Using someone else's identity without permission

What Is Allowed

You can be yourself authentically, including:

  • Using a nickname or preferred name (as long as it's how you're known in everyday life)
  • Not sharing your last name (privacy is important)
  • Using photos that accurately represent how you look
  • Sharing your genuine interests, values, and personality

Why Authenticity Matters

Authentic profiles help create genuine connections. When people misrepresent themselves:

  • It breaks trust and hurts others
  • It prevents real connections from forming
  • It can lead to dangerous situations
  • It violates the trust that makes Fateda work

How to Spot Inauthentic Profiles

Warning signs that a profile might be fake:

  • Photos that look like stock images or professional models
  • Refusing to video chat or meet in person
  • Asking for money or financial help early in conversation
  • Inconsistent information in their profile or messages
  • Moving conversations off-platform very quickly
  • Making excuses for why they can't meet or video chat

Enforcement

If we identify an inauthentic profile:

  • We may ask for verification of your identity
  • We may remove the profile
  • We may permanently ban the account
  • We may report serious cases to law enforcement

Be yourself! Authenticity is the foundation of meaningful connections. If you encounter a profile you believe is fake, please report it.
